Piney Station HOA February 10, 2009 COMMUNITY UPDATE
PARKING LOTS CONTRACTED FOR RESTRIPING/ PAINTING
For better visibility and as part of the parking lot maintenance the Board of Directors for Piney Station Homeowners’ Association has contracted with All State Striping to repaint the parking spaces, numbers, stencils and yellow curbs throughout the community. This project will be completed during the spring of 2009 once the weather has improved. Please be sure to have your vehicles moved off the parking lots on the scheduled dates between the hours of 8:00 A.M until 4:00 P.M. Further notice will be sent as to the actual dates for this project. Please note that any vehicle still in the parking lot during the time of the painting will be moved by the towing company and the vehicle’s owner will be billed the moving fee.
COMMUNITY WEBSITE INFORMATION
The community launched a redesigned web site this past year that will allow us to provide more dynamic content such as forums, polls, and blogs. The address is still http://www.pineystation.com. We are aware that some information carried over from the old site is out of date and will be working to update these items. To participate in any of the new dynamic content you will need to sign-up for a login and password. The signup page is http://www.pineystation.com/user/register. Please be sure to enter your last name and street so that we can verify residency. Once verification has been made we will activate your account. If anyone has additional ideas for content or features on the website, please email the board via the contact form on the website or send an email to pineystation@pineystation.com.
TRASH CONCERNS
Trash collection is every Tuesday and Friday, except for certain Holidays, in which case trash will be picked up the day after the holiday. Recycling and yard waste pickup is on Tuesdays. Please place garbage out the night before or early morning in secured bags and containers. If you are going to be traveling and do not want your trash in the house, please take it to the local landfill. Leaving garbage out longer than necessary is unsightly. If you need to schedule a bulk pickup or have a trash pickup complaint please contact Anne Arundel County Trash at 410-222-6100.
TRAFFIC CALMING/ SPEED HUMPS
The board has had some preliminary discussions regarding the possibility of placing speed bumps in certain areas of the community. The board would appreciate hearing from any interested homeowners regarding traffic calming. There is additional general information regarding traffic available at http://www.ceds.org/pc.html#TRAFFIC_CALMING.
SNOW REMOVAL
Piney Station Homeowners’ Association has a contract with ASPEN GROVE for snow removal. Snow pushing crews are dispatched upon accumulation of two (2) inches of registered snowfall, they will not dispatch earlier unless deemed necessary by the Board of Directors. Snow removal is a very expensive maintenance cost; the contract only covers the community common areas. Please note, ASPEN GROVE is not contracted to clear the steps and sidewalk that lead to the units. During severe ice conditions, snow removal services may be hindered due to recurring thawing and refreezing.
SALT TREATMENTS
If you plan to use chemicals to melt ice and snow from your steps, please do not use products that contain chlorides (i.e. calcium chloride or sodium chloride). Chlorides can cause the concrete in your steps to deteriorate. Please check the packaging of any product you apply to your concrete around your home before using it.
SPRING INSPECTION FOR 2009
The Board of Directors for Piney Station Homeowners’ Association has scheduled the annual Spring Inspection. During this inspection members of the board will be making their walk-through of the property to evaluate the maintenance level of your home. The community’s governing documents state that homeowners shall keep their lot in good order and in a manner consistent with good property management. This includes all necessary seeding, watering and mowing of all lawns, and pruning and cutting of all trees and shrubbery’s. In addition, all exterior painting and woodwork shall be maintained as needed. Please be sure your home and lot is maintained appropriately in order to assist the community in preserving the harmony, curb appeal and property values for all homeowners. 2009
